500 Personnel Dispatched During Months of Orderly Sidewalk

500 joint personnel of Satpol PP, Transportation Dept., army and police are dispatched to support the Months of Orderly Sidewalk. They will be spread to secure the sidewalks in five cities from today until one month ahead.

Jakarta Satpol PP Head, Yani Wahyu Purwoko disclosed, at province level, he has prepared 50 personnel assisted by 50 personnel of army. The number is not yet added from each city area.

"We totally have 500 personnel. For province level, we have 100 personnel of army and Satpol PP. Then for city level, is still under process," he expressed, at City Hall, Tuesday (8/1).

Months of Orderly Sidewalk Targeting 155 Points

She explains, Months of Orderly Sidewalk is a program to restore the function of the sidewalk as a pedestrian facility. Considering, its function has turned into PKL business place and illegal parking.

"Surely it disturbs the pedestrian, including disabled people," he told.

He assessed, on the first day, it will be intensified in Tanah Abang area, Central Jakarta. Aside that, arrangement of the sidewalks from utility network and poles is also carried out.

"Five cities conduct it simultaneously. One day must be one point in accordance with Governor Instruction No. 99/2017 on Months of Orderly Sidewalk. Each sidewalk that is already sterile from PKL and illegal parking will be cleaned by urban village and sub-district apparatus," he closed.
